SINOPSIS CORTA: Una maldición de una bruja en el valle del Cauca por que le quitaron a su hijo, dice que las mujeres que den a luz en la familia Solaz moriran. Además es el amor entre blancos y negros por decadas, en medio de la industria azucarera colombiana.
SINOPSIS LARGA:
La jornada termino. Entre cantos, ron y sudor los corteros
marchan a hacienda. Un ocaso anaranjado y amarillo baña los cañaduzales y a lo
lejos el trapiche duerme silencioso. Las cañas esconden sombras, carcajadas de
mujer, risas morenas.... carne y demonio. ¡La pasión ha tendido sus redes! La
más blanca y noble estirpe se ha rendido para siempre ante el embrujo de la
miel...
En los años cuarenta el poderío de la familia Solaz representado en sus inmensos campos de caña de azúcar parecía que nunca tendría fin. Manuel María Solaz manejaba con recio entusiasmo su hacienda y su fortuna, hasta ese día en que la negra Sixta Lucumi, ebria de ira y dolor, maldijo la familia al serle arrebatado el hijo que él sembró en sus entrañas...
“El azúcar para ser blanca necesita de la sangre negra, de
la semilla negra y de la tierra negra.... maldigo a la familia solaz... en el
momento en que nazca un solaz, morirá su madre... y esto será así durante
generaciones hasta que el amor junte lo que la soberbia separo”.
Azúcar es el enfrentamiento, choque de cuerpos, golpe de
salsa, sorbos de ron. Azúcar es una hacienda legendaria habitada por un puñado
de hombres y mujeres que viven y aman apasionadamente, aunque su destino haya
sido marcado por una maldición.
